Last weekend Haley's older brother Colton got back from his mission, so her and her cousin Kaylee had been planning to go home for his homecoming because Kaylee has a car. Haley was going to surprise her family in doing this. Also, another girl in my home ward, Katrina, was going to go along and go home too, and bring her friend Janie. As for me, it was mother's weekend and Sarah-mommy (lol) was GOING to come up and spend the weekend with me, but it wasn't going to work out. SO, since Janie decided not to go to Spokane, there was an extra seat and i just randomly decided to come along and surprise my family and friends too. We left friday evening after everyone's classes and 8 hours and $70 in gas later, we arrive in Spokane. Katrin and I didn't want to invade on their family reuinion, so we had my friend Jeannette pick us up and take us to Suncrest. So Kaylee dropped us of at Krispy Kreme and we waited for about 20 minutes looking VERY homeless. So we get to Suncrest and drop Katrina off and meet up with all our Suncresty friendsies and chill with them for a few hours. So then I get home, and I had previously talked to and coordinated a secret ninja entrance with my little brother Jakey poo. He took the screen off a back window and left it cracked a bit. I SO thought my little Kola squeeker dog would hear me and wake up barking and ruin everything, but to my surprise, she didn't. AT FIRST. Stinking dog. I was up around 5:45 going to the bathroom, and THEN she decided to freak out. She started growling and I froze, hoping she'd stop. but nooooo, she had to get LOUDER. So I ran upstairs as quickly and quietly as I could, but she now started BARKING, thinking i was an intruder or something. As soon as she realized it was me, she started whimpering and whining all excited like. NOT quietly. So i grabbed her out of the cage and ran downstairs, hoping no one had heard her little episode. About 15 minutes later i heard someone get up, and i hoped it was just to go to the bathroom and they wouldn't notice Kola was missing, because I had planned on waiting a few hours til she calmed down to go put her back. Well, it didn't sound like whoever was up was going back to bed. Dang. I was listening intently and then heard someone start coming down the stairs. Then i heard an urgently whispered "KOLA!" I thought maybe I could get away with just opening the door and letting her slip out. But my door squeeks. It was my mom who was looking for her, and she FREAKED when she heard the door open. Understandably. So i hurried and went out with Kola and lamely said, "Surprise!" haha. So she was pretty surprised, and came into my room and was talking to me a bit, discussing how i'd surprise everyone else. Apparently she was taking to long tho, and my dad came looking. He walked to the edge of the stairs and called, "SARAH! Did you find the dog?" At that point, I was struck with a brilliant idea of how to surprise my dad: I ran upstairs with Kola in a football hold and said, "DAD! Look I found KOLA!" He was very confused. He kinda took a step back and blinked, did a double-take, and demanded to know, "What are YOU doing here??" I said, "SURPRISE!!" He said, "No REALLY, what ARE you doing here?" I laughed and explained that I was home for a surprise visit as he gave me a hug and started smiling. Josh and Hailey had awaken in all the commotion, and my dad had to ruin it by telling them that I was there. They didn't believe him. Of course. So I went into their room and jumped on them. lol. We all talked for a bit, but it WAS 6:00 in the morning, so we all went to bed, and Josh and Hailey of course had to come with me, and I had a hard time getting their little yappers to close. In the morning, we all got ready and went into town, saw the new office my parents are moving in to, went out to lunch at HuHot with my dad's employee Kevin and his mom, and then had ice cream at Zips. I was saad that I didn't get to see Jake tho. Our plan for the rest of the day WAS going to be to go to Greenbluff and get pumpkins and stuff, but i wasn't really into that idea. so, we rented some movies and had had all my friends over to watch it with us. Overall, although it was short, it was a really good weekend and it was so nice to be home. :)
